Weee Directive

MJM Computers & Consumables and the WEEE Directive...

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is a European Parliament and Council directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2002/96/EC) ("the WEEE directive") and subsequent amended directive (2003/108/EC)

The purpose of the directive is to ensure proper disposal, recycling, reuse, and other forms of recovery of electrical and electronic waste, that could have a potential effect on the environment and human health as a result of the presence of hazardous substances.

You should be aware of the "Crossed out Bin Symbol" marked on products and packaging, which aims to encourage users to separate items that fall under the WEEE Directive and to discard them separate from other waste.

Unwanted Items that fall under the WEEE Directive, can be properly disposed of usually free of charge, at a local authorised re-cycling centre near you - the location of these for your area can be obtained by visiting your local Council Waste Website, OR by visiting www.recyclenow.com
